International Kissing Day

When I think about it, the concept of a kiss is everywhere in society and has many meanings. A first kiss. A formal kiss. A passionate kiss. A kiss goodbye.

Kissing Day aims to make us appreciate a kiss in its own right. No conventions, no social norms, just a kiss. Across the globe we embrace the kiss by embracing someone else.

Inspiring Travel Quotes

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. ~Mark Twain

The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. ~Saint Augustine

Happy New Location!

1 year...1 year since we reopened this hostel in our new location, with a fresh look and attitude towards providing quality service to you,our customers and friends..

It's been hard, but more than that it was good fun ...having everybody involved:our staff,friends,tourists,owner..everybody gave a hand in this moving process..it made us forget about the exhaustion that installed in our bodies at some point, and it actually made us more enthusiastic about the new great place that we have to remake.

1859, January 24: A Fine Day in Romanian History

153 years ago , the two principalities of Moldova and Wallachia had a moment of brilliance- the type that makes history: both of them elected general Alexandru Ioan Cuza as prince or 'domnitor' therefore becoming The United Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia.

The act from 24th January 1859  determined  a contradictory reaction: it was accepted by France, Russia, Sardinia and Prussia, it was received with prudent reserve by the English government, however Turkey and Austria were reluctant to it.

Traditional Romanian Food 101-What to Eat When Visiting Dracula's Country

Dear Readers,

We strongly believe that when visiting a foreign country, tasting the local cuisine is a must. Romania is no exception! It would be a shame to come here and eat pizza, Mc Donald's or Chinese food, just because you don't know what to expect! Plus, dining in a restaurant will only add value to your experience, for a very reasonable price.

How does one review one of the greatest hostel experiences ever?

Starting with the basics, hostel was exceptionally clean. The beds were a good size, there is plenty of open space in a 6 bed room and I never felt crowded. Lockers are available for each bed. Lockers can easily store a large sized backpack. Bathrooms on each floor with a 3 shower male and separate female shower room. So I never had to wait to use a shower or bathroom. The hostel was well located.
